Mukti – A Smita Thackeray foundation founded in 1997 is a charitable institution registered in Mumbai having 80G certification. Since its inception Mukti Foundation has been working towards building awareness among communities and assisting the physically and emotionally challenged people with their needs.
The foundation organizes AIDS & Drug Abuse awareness campaigns and seminars in school and colleges on a regular basis in Mumbai to create awareness about this deadly disease among the youth.
“Mukti”, as the name denotes means freedom, freedom for the woes of life. Its prime objective is to create an intervention centre, having social organizations and professionals on the panel dealing with Aids, Drug abuse, Human Rights, Health and Education issues.
